I, Scry... D&D Beyond Removing Unearthed Arcana
D&D Beyond has announced that they will no longer support Unearthed Arcana content. For those who are not familiar, Unearthed Arcana is effectively beta content, used to test upcoming additions to the game. Most of the rules provided are eventually released as official material, though often with significant changes from their original version. While these Unearthed Arcana items were often a bit rough, they were available free of charge, right up until they are released officially or abandoned. More details can be found in this posting on the official Beyond forums:
While I appreciate the decision of the Beyond team to focus their resources on creating new features, I did find it surprising that within a week of this announcement, they stripped out all the UA content that wasn’t set to expire until September - November. Given how incredibly overdue the developers are in completing the book content their customers have paid for, I can only hope that the elimination of UA material truly does speed up their other efforts. Their overdue features remain little more than vaporware so far, but I continue to hold out hope that they will arrive this year.
But while we wait, all I can say is,
Happy roleplaying, and may the dice be ever in your favor.
