So now that “The Wild Beyond the Witchlight” is just days away from launching, many news sites are starting to preview some of the content it will provide. Much of this is shouting about fairies and rabbit folk, which I really don’t consider news (both fairies and rabbit folk were released in preview form via Unearthed Arcana several months ago, and can be found here). What I did find new and interesting was that the WItchlight book appears to have, as reported by Polygon, a special set of Session Zero rules.

It appears that there are special options in Witchlight to begin the adventure with characters specifically designed for the Feywild carnival that is the setting of the adventure. There are also option to begin with a split party, where the fey characters enter via one plot point, while the non-fey enter through another. Overall, it’s an interesting way to structure the book, with content that is really intended for fresh characters made specifically for the Feywild. That said, with the book releasing on September 21st, we don’t have much longer to wait to see exactly what kind of characters it’s intended for.
